The Design Process
We knew could improve the design of traditional elite Japanese Knives and with the help of our award winning Designer Roy Gilsing we focused on the ergonomics and the handle design.
Most knives have the grip point at the end of the handle where it unreliably reacts with only the little finger.
Only Orient knives re-focus the handle on a central grip point which interacts with the strongest middle fingers allowing you to push the knife firmly into the palm of the hand for more confident handling.
Fine Details
Our Damascus Series knives feature a 67 layer Damascus Steel Blade. This is 66 layers of SUS410 Japanese Stainless Steel, 33 on each side, protecting an AUS-10 super strength cutting core.
This combination of materials produces a knife blade with breathtaking performance characteristics, delivering supreme sharpness and class leading edge retention.
Our supremely sharp knives are supported with beautiful packaging and a decorative gift box and supplied with a protective locking blade guard (sheath) making them an ideal gift for any cooking enthusiast or professional chef.
Honest Pricing
For too long, chef’s knives have been sold through expensive stores at hugely inflated prices.
We wanted Orient to be a knife brand that is beautiful in design and available to everyone at a fair and affordable price.
